FOOTBALL BANQUET TO BE HELD APRIL 14
RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University will hold its annual football banquet Friday, April 14, at the Stratton Building Cafeteria on campus. The 7:30 p.m. banquet will be preceded by a 6:30 p.m. reception on the cafeteria's second level.
George Floyd, a former All-American defensive back for EKU in 1980 and 1981 who was recently inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, will be the guest speaker at the banquet.
Several football-related items will be auctioned at the banquet to benefit the Worn Cleat Club, Eastern's booster organization made up of primarily ex-Colonel football players.
These items include: autographed jerseys of five NFL players - Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Tyrone Hopson, John Jackson and Chad Bratzke; an autographed football of Cleveland Browns quarterback Tim Couch; a Tim Couch / Peyton Manning autographed football; a San Francisco 49'ers team autographed football; and two road trips with the EKU football team for the upcoming 2000 season, including one trip to Orlando, FL, for the Colonels' Oct. 14 game with the University of Central Florida.
