COLONELS PLACE TWO ON ALL-CONFERENCE FOOTBALL TEAM

RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University's Josh Hunter and Terry Thomas have been named to the First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference football squad for 1999.

Hunter is a 6-3, 290-pound senior offensive guard from Myakka City, FL, and graded out at 89% for the season. He also set a team record for pancake blocks in a season with 82. Hunter was selected First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference in 1997 and Second Team All-Ohio Valley Conference in 1998.

Terry Thomas is a 6-2, 270-pound senior defensive tackle from Flint, MI. Thomas led the Colonels with 87 total tackles and 13 tackles for loss. He also added two sacks, eight quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries and three caused fumbles this season.

"Josh and Terry played like all-conference players this year and deserve to be first team. We're pleased they were recognized for their efforts," said EKU head coach Roy Kidd who concluded his 36th season at the helm of the Colonels.

In addition to Hunter and Thomas, EKU also placed six players on the Second Team All-Ohio Valley Conference unit. They included junior running back Corey Crume, senior tight end Anthony Watson, junior offensive tackle Lewis Diaz, junior placekicker Jason Martin, senior defensive lineman Jason Muchow and senior defensive back Scooter Asel.

Eastern's senior running back Derick Logan was named Honorable Mention All-Ohio Valley Conference.

The Colonels finished the season 7-4 and finished in a third place tie in the OVC with a 4-3 record.
