RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University redshirt freshman cornerback Yeremiah Bell made the most of his first collegiate start last Saturday night as he was named the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for his efforts in the Eastern Kentucky - Western Kentucky football contest won by the Colonels, 30-10.

Bell, 6-0, 182, was credited with eight solo tackles, five assists and two tackles for loss (minus 4 yards) as Eastern held Western to zero passing yards in the game.

He is a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School.
