Anthony is the second-leading returning receiver on the Colonels' '99 squad... caught 14 passes in 1998 for 250 yards and two TD's... was OVC Newcomer of the Week vs. Kentucky  last season when he carried the ball three times for 83 yards, had five kickoff returns for 82 yards and one  reception for 12 yards... is most athletic of the receivers with soft hands... was leading receiver in '99 spring game with two catches for 28 yards... is a natural receiver with runningback instincts after he catches the ball... was a much-improved player during the spring... his confidence and familiarity at wideout have improved his overall game... made tremendous gains in strength as attested to by the fact of benching 300 pounds... worked hard in the weight room and in the conditioning program... will also handle kick return duties this fall... big play threat every time he touches the ball... sat out 1997 season... came to Eastern in 1997 as a tailback... participated on the football, basketball and track teams in high school... was second-team all-state pick his senior year and team MVP... also received Papa John's Player of the Year Award for the state and was picked for the Kentucky All-Star team in the annual Kentucky-Tennessee high school all-star series... rushed for nearly 200 yards vs. Trinity in state semifinals and for more than 200 yards in the title game vs. Dunbar... closed year with 2,241 yards and  27 TD's rushing... helped coach Mark Brown's Nelson County football team to region championship as sophomore, regional runnersup as a junior and state 4-A title as a senior... won Most Improved Player Award as a  sophomore... was WHAS-TV Player of the Week in football in 1996... won Coaches' Award for Dedication in basketball... biggest athletic thrill came when his team  won the 1996 state 4-A high school championship... graduate of Nelson County High School.
