Two Letters... "Shorty" is one of the best overall
athletes on the Colonels' squad... has played and started for Eastern at
defensive end for two years... top game of '98 season came vs. Appalachian
State when he had two tackles, six assists and had a good spring practice,
including the spring game where he was credited with three tackles and
one sack... EKU coaching staff sees dominating player in Shorty... works
hard, both on and off the field... has all-conference ability... was moved
from linebacker to defensive end during 1997 spring practice and has stayed
there since... played in all 12 games in 1997 in a backup role at end...
redshirted in 1996... helped his high school team advance from a 1-9 team
his freshman season to 15-0 state champs in 1995... had 105 solo tackles,
94 assists, five interceptions, 10 sacks and four fumble recoveries his
senior year of high school... also had high school career marks of 1,854
yards rushing, 562 yards receiving and 34 touchdowns... high school teammate
of Colonel quarterback Waylon Chapman and wide receiver Matt Sharp... graduate
of Breathitt County High School.
