Ben comes to Eastern after starting on both offense and defense for three seasons at Scott County for coach Jim McKee... also competed in track for the Cardinals... was a first-team All-State choice in 1998 after being a second-team All-State pick as a junior by The Courier-Journal... served as captain last season... named in the Top 50 Coaches Poll of Kentucky Players in 1997 and 1998... selected to play in the Kentucky-Tennessee All-Star game... holds all weightlifting records in high school for the heavyweight division... dedicated to weightlifting, placing in the top five in the heavyweight division at the state powerlifting meet last year... played every down at right offensive tackle and left defensive guard for Scott County’s 9-2 team... hobbies include hunting, fishing and weightlifting... father played football for the University of Evansville where he was Player of the Year in the Indiana Collegiate Conference in 1973... his dad played for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs in the pre-season of 1974... Ben’s biggest athletic thrill came when he was chosen as the first player in Scott County high school history to be chosen for the Kentucky All-Star team... picked EKU because of the great winning tradition, outstanding coaching staff and the chance to play for the legendary Roy Kidd.
